How to make Poha with oats

Poha (Flattened rice) is like thin rice flakes. It is very tasty and healthy breakfast option.  In order to make it even more healthier, I have added oats into it so this is my version of Poha called as Oats poha. Hope you all will like it and share it 🙂

People generally soak and drain poha before adding it into the pan. But i never soak poha. Yes this is the way i make it completely non sticky and delectable. Details are given in the Process section below.

Cuisine : Indian

Serves – 3-4 persons

Type : Easy

Ingredients required to make Oats Poha

  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds (raai) – 1 tbsp ( I have used brown mustard)
  • Fresh Kadi Patta (curry leaves) – 16-18
  • Onions – 1 medium
  • Grated Ginger – 1 tbsp
  • Tomato chopped – 1 medium
  • Turmeric powder (haldi) – 1/2 tbsp
  • Water – 100 ml
  • Oats – 125 gms (you can use more too)
  • Flattened rice (poha) – 250 gms
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped capsicum – 2 tbsp
  • Red Chilli powder – 1/2 tbsp

To Garnish

  • Peanuts
  • Coriander
  • Aalu bhujia/sev (optional)
